Our first unit in year 2 cyber arts was chinese brush painting. There are many differences between this style of art and the more western style. In chinese brush painting, the rice paper is cut with a strip of water that is brushed along a crease. In the western world of art, we are judged on our amount of creativity and being different. But in chinese brush painting it is all about being exact. There are even steps on which brush strokes come first! I think this was a very fun unit because it branches far from any other techniques we have learned so far.
I am a sponsored skateboarder currently riding for Cj's Skatepark and Sumo skateshop, and I am a year 4 cyberARTS student at LCI! Subscriptions are appreciated :) http://www.youtube.com/thedirtyshoremedia
